After parking in the park, you can explore the trails by foot. You can take the Yellow Trail, which follows the creek’s valley. After crossing a wooden footbridge, the trail leads downstream. This trail offers great views of waterfalls, pristine forests, and wildlife. You can also purchase printed guides and snacks at the park’s Interpretive Center.

The park is located 2.7 km from downtown Atlanta. Other nearby attractions include the Riverside EpiCenter and Six Flags Over Georgia. There is also the Wolf Creek Amphitheater. The Arbor Place Mall is nearby, as is Camp Creek Marketplace. There are also several colleges and universities nearby.

West Pines Golf Club

West Pines Golf Club is a semi-private course located in Douglasville, Georgia. The first nine holes opened in 1965, and the second nine followed several years later. In 2004, the City of Douglasville purchased the existing golf course and hired golf architects Bill Bergin and HMS Golf of Woodstock to rework it. Construction was started in early 2005. The course features two sets of tees, one for beginning golfers and one for more experienced golfers.

The course itself is in OK condition. The greens are well-kept. Unfortunately, the fairways and tee boxes were less than ideal. The fairways were dry, and some had weeds and dirt patches. This was very frustrating. However, despite the problems, the course was still worth playing.

Boundary Waters Aquatic Center

The Boundary Waters Aquatic Center is a multi-use aquatic complex that features an 8-lane, 25-meter competition pool as well as a four-lane therapeutic/teaching pool. The aquatic center was designed by Counsilman-Hunsaker and Peter Hand and Associates to meet the needs of the Douglas County community. It includes bleacher-style seating to accommodate large crowds.

The Boundary Waters Park is a great place to get exercise and enjoy a scenic view of the river. It features a 12-mile network of trails that run along the Chattahoochee River. You can hike these trails while enjoying the scenery. Unlike the more popular Sweetwater Creek State Park, the trails at Boundary Waters Park are much quieter.

Douglas County Museum of History & Art

Douglas County Museum of History & Art is a free history museum located in the former courthouse. It features 12 exhibition rooms and a gift shop. The museum has a wide variety of local artifacts. In addition to its exhibitions, the museum also offers special events and lectures throughout the year.

The museum focuses on natural history, and collects materials that are related to Douglas County’s past. Artifacts on exhibit include creative depictions of the history and natural history of the Umpqua Valley. It also features topical exhibits and features Oregon’s second largest historical photograph collection, containing more than twenty-four thousand images.

The museum is located in the Old Douglas County Courthouse, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building is a great example of International Style architecture, and is one of the last of its kind in the United States. The museum is free to visit, though donations are always appreciated.

The museum’s buildings were designed by the San Francisco architectural firm Backen, Arrigoni & Ross. Upon completion, the museum was given a National Award of Merit by the American Institute of Architects for its design. Major additions were made to the museum in 1979 and 1989. These improvements increased the museum’s exhibition space and storage space. The museum also partnered with the Umpqua River Lighthouse and Museum in 2006.

Arbor Place Mall
